「唯有牡丹真国色，花开时节动京城。」

唐代盛世之时，牡丹盛行于长安。花开时节，满城观赏，上至宫苑高门，下至市井人家，皆以牡丹为美。它因此不只是一种花，更成为盛世气象的象征。

牡丹，是长安盛景的写意。

若说桃花写的是长安的春意初启，那么牡丹所描绘的，便是这座古都最丰盛、最雍容的一面。

这条丝巾以牡丹为题，取其层层舒展之姿，写东方女性所欣赏的另一种美：从容、丰盛、自有风华。

它所映照的，不只是花开的姿态，也是长安盛景留在人们心中的一抹华彩。

In the flourishing age of the Tang dynasty, peonies bloomed in great abundance throughout Chang'an. When the flowers opened, the entire city came out to admire them — from palace gardens and noble residences to the homes and streets of ordinary people. For this reason, the peony was never merely a flower; it became the very emblem of an age of magnificence.

The peony is the poetic image of Chang'an at its grandest. If peach blossoms speak of spring's first awakening in Chang'an, then the peony reveals the ancient capital in its richest and most resplendent form.

This silk scarf takes the peony as its theme, drawing from the way its petals unfold layer upon layer, and giving form to another kind of beauty admired by Eastern women: composure, abundance, and a radiance entirely one's own.

À l'apogée des Tang, la pivoine prospérait dans toute la ville de Chang'an. À la saison de sa floraison, toute la cité venait l'admirer, des jardins impériaux et des grandes demeures jusqu'aux maisons et ruelles du peuple. Ainsi, la pivoine ne fut pas seulement une fleur : elle devint le symbole même d'un âge de prospérité et d'éclat.

La pivoine est l'expression poétique du faste de Chang'an. Si la fleur de pêcher raconte l'éveil printanier de la ville, la pivoine, elle, en dévoile le visage le plus ample, le plus somptueux, le plus souverain.

Ce carré de soie prend la pivoine pour motif. Il en emprunte l'élan des pétales qui se déploient, couche après couche, pour évoquer une autre forme de beauté admirée par les femmes d'Orient : la sérénité, l'abondance, et une grâce qui n'appartient qu'à soi.
